link submission

LINK SUBMISSION

We are going to look at ways off getting links to our site

Most of the directories are general in scope and list websites across a wide range of categories, regions and languages. But some niche directories focus on restricted regions, single languages, or specialist sectors. One type of niche directory with a large number of sites in existence is the shopping directory. Shopping directories specialize in the listing of retail e-commerce sites.

Examples of well-known general web directories are Yahoo! Directory (shut down at the end of 2014) and DMOZ. DMOZ is significant due to its extensive categorization and large number of listings and its free availability for use by other directories and search engines.[5]

However, a debate over the quality of directories and databases still continues, as search engines use ODP’s content without real integration, and some experiment using clustering. There have been many attempts to make directory development easier, such as using automated submission of related links by script, or any number of available PHP portals and programs. Recently, social software techniques have spawned new efforts of categorization, with Amazon.com adding tagging to their product pages.

Directories have various features in listing, often depending upon the price paid for inclusion:

  • Free submission – there is no charge for the review and listing of the site
  • Reciprocal link – a link back to the directory must be added somewhere on the submitted site in order to get listed in the directory
  • No Reciprocal link – a web directory where you will submit your links for free and no need to add link back to your website
  • Paid submission – a one-time or recurring fee is charged for reviewing/listing the submitted link
  • Featured listing – the link is given a premium position in a category (or multiple categories) or other sections of the directory, such as the homepage. Sometimes called sponsored listing.
  • Bid for position – where sites are ordered based on bids
  • Affiliate links – where the directory earns commission for referred customers from the listed websites

How to get links to your blog site

Blog directories make your blog visible beyond the realms of your own blogging circle. Here are some of the benefits of joining blog directories that make the process do lucrative.

1) Get quality and safe backlinks:

Most blog directories are manually supervised for any wrong submissions. Hence, these sites are spam free and are a potential source of building SEO friendly backlinks. Some blog directories also provide dofollow backlinks. Imagine what benefit can getting the 10 dofollow backlinks from 10 submissions have on your blogs ranking in the SERPs.

2) Getting massive exposure:

Let’s face it. Your audience is the key to your blog’s existence. You have your own set of audience from a particular demographic region. How about crossing those limits and getting seen by an even larger audience.

Blog directories display your site for every related search query on their database. That means more chances of getting noticed by audiences that would otherwise have no idea on your blog.

3) Chances of getting review requests or paid post opportunities:

Some web directories are so active and because these directories are popular and usually have quality blog submissions these are the best (and easiest) places for businesses to look for paid review postings.

Since you are a member of these directories your website is visible to these brands. The chances are higher you get business opportunities from them like sponsored reviews or banner advertisements on your blog.

4) Increase in blog’s overall earnings:

Considering the above facts, we can say that submitting your blog to directories can help you in getting review requests. Moreover, they increase chances of your blog getting discovered so you have an increased audience base.

An increase in audience is directly proportional to increase in earnings through any monetization method you have set up on your blog

List of Free Backlink Checker Tools

  1. SEMRUSH:

SEMRush is one of the most popular SEO tools out there and now it has added backlink analysis feature to its arsenal.

Previously it was very good for analyzing keywords both organic and ad keywords. The data can be got in a graphical format.

Now that it has added a backlink checker feature all you have to do is:

  • Go to the SEMRush homepage.
  • Type the domain name (in my case I typed quicksprout.com), you want to analyze and hit enter.
  • If you want to compare the domain names, there is a tab for that on the left corner and you can get a detailed list of referring domains, referring IPs, links from .gov and .edu sites as well as other TLDs.
  • You can export it as PDF by clicking on the PDF button on the right top side
